The Process
The Future Leadership team undertook a search across Australia and New Zealand, supplemented by an online media campaign. The search targeted suitable high calibre candidates with specific and relevant experience gained in research institutes, the allied health and not for profit sectors, universities and government organisations.
In particular the team assessed candidates with an outstanding reputation and track record in leadership of complex organisations, in addition to expertise in associated research, policy or advocacy. The search process yielded a strong response with the panel interviewing five candidates in the first round, with second round interviews conducted with two preferred candidates.
The Outcome
There was a successful candidate appointed and commenced in November 2021, after spending seven years as Chief Executive Officer of a medical service. With an informed understanding of the context of the organisation, the candidate brings an understanding of the opportunities that exist for a contemporary membership organisation having previously been Manager of a Community Foundation and nine years with an emergency services volunteer organisation in communications roles. The candidate is a strong advocate for the sector and has a strong understanding of the opportunities for education and professional development.
