
Conducting an Executive Search for a Chief Information Office to lead the strategic development and delivery of contemporary IT Services

The Brief
The Future Leadership team was delighted to partner with a globally recognised medical research institute in Queensland to appointment their Chief Information Officer.
This important position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and with three direct reports. They will lead a team of around 20 in the management, development and implementation of the Institute’s information and technology strategies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

The Process
Following a detailed briefing with the Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chief Administration Officer, Chief of People and Council member, our research and mapping commenced. 143 formal expressions of interest were received.
Our close collaboration ensured that timelines and expectations were managed, and assessment and screening was undertaken to ensure that shortlisted candidates had experience in Experienced in areas including cyber security, data protection and incident management, in addition to leading tender processes, you will bring strong financial and resource management capabilities. A total of four candidates were shortlisted and went to panel interviews.
The Outcome
The appointee has over 20 years experience in various roles in the higher education sector with skills in building relationships, using data, being curious, and leading and implementing strategic change and transformation initiatives to create value and impact. During their career the successful candidate has led multiple ICT strategic and operational projects and has led team members through several change processes.
