The Brief
The Agency sought to appoint a new Chief People Officer (CPO) following the departure of the previous incumbent.
With the organisation rapidly expanding, it became critical to develop robust talent management systems and processes to ensure the agency could meet its evolving needs and government requirements. The ideal candidate needed to build capability, implement organisational redesign, and manage a transformation that would position the company as a model of inclusion and support for people with disabilities. The appointee was expected to bring a calming influence and transformative leadership to the People and Culture function.

The Process
Future Leadership conducted a comprehensive executive search across Australia and New Zealand, supported by a national online advertising campaign.
The search targeted professionals from similarly sized public sector departments and large corporate organisations known for managing critical operations and excellence in people management. Over 90 formal applications were managed, with regular progress and biography reports provided to key stakeholders. The process culminated in panel interviews for ten shortlisted candidates, supported by detailed documentation and consultant expertise.
