Katherine Pivetta has been appointed as Chief Practitioner at Government of South Australia, Department for Child Protection

Katherine has been appointed as the Chief Practitioner at the Department of Child Protection, South Australia.  This is a newly created leadership position driving practice excellence across the agency. The department works to keep children and young people safe from abuse and harm and provide alternative care when living at home is no longer an option.

Katherine is a senior public service leader who has worked in Victoria and Queensland, focused on strengthening quality and equitable outcomes for vulnerable communities and supporting the health and wellbeing of staff. Katherine will be accountable for providing significant expert practice advice, leadership, and oversight to Child Protection staff with the ultimate aim of achieving safety, stability and optimal development for children. Skilled in translating high level objectives into practical solutions, Katherine has a passion for continuous improvement and working collaboratively to solve complex problems.
