Mr Abdel-rahman Bassal was appointed to the position of Executive Director Research Innovation and Digital Health with the Women’s and Children’s Health Network and commenced on Monday 10 February 2025. In this key executive role, Abdel will provide strategic leadership in the advancement of research innovation and digital health initiatives and foster a culture of excellence and innovation in healthcare delivery.
With over 10 years of healthcare IT leadership experience, including as Chief Information Officer for the Barossa Hills Fleurieu (BHF) Local Health Network (LHN) and Senior Manager of SA’s Digital Telehealth Network, Abdel presents with extensive experience in digital health leadership, virtual care and innovation. Abdel has a proven track record in developing and executing business aligned IT strategies and managing large-scale digital initiatives. He is adept at aligning stakeholders to a vision, optimising customer and staff experiences through technology and is passionate about improving patient experience and outcomes through the use of technology.
