The Board has an important role at the ADC. It is primarily responsible for the governing, overseeing the affairs of, and making strategic decisions for the ADC and on behalf of its staff members and stakeholders.
The Position
The Australian Dental Council (ADC) is seeking to appoint a new Board Director who will bring a commitment to progressing the strategic priorities of the organisation alongside an ability to contribute expertise and considered thinking into our future strategic direction.
To be considered for the position, you will demonstrate proven experience in financial management, accounting, or related fields along with previous board experience in a non-profit setting. Experience in understanding of technology trends and their application in non-profit organisations would be desirable.
The successful incumbent will have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills along with a thorough understanding of governance and fiduciary duties associated with Board Directorship. The incoming Board Director will have the ability to contribute strategic thinking to organisational priorities, risk management and business development and growth and have well-developed communication and influencing skills, including the ability to build strong networks and professional relationships.
The ADC are actively working to ensure diversity in skills, experience and backgrounds of Board members including ensuring representation Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in decision making at the ADC. This means diversity of background, identity, thought, and experience will be important considerations in determining the successful appointees.
The Organisation
The Australian Dental Council (ADC) is a not-for-profit company that is the authority assigned the accreditation functions for the dental professions in Australia. Our role works to protect the health and safety of the public by ensuring dental practitioners meet the high standards required of dental professionals in Australia.
