The Position

Uniting AgeWell, a leading provider of aged care services across Victoria and Tasmania, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic financial leader to assume the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will be responsible for driving the financial sustainability and operational excellence of the organisation, ensuring it continues to meet its mission of delivering exceptional care and support to older Australians.

The CFO will provide strategic and operational financial advice to the CEO, Board, and Executive Team, leading financial planning and analysis to support Uniting AgeWell’s growth and vision. They will oversee the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, ensure strong governance, and monitor accounting and financial information systems. Additionally, the CFO will be accountable for statutory and financial matters and serve as the Company Secretary for Uniting AgeWell.

Leading the Finance, Payroll, and Contract Management teams, the CFO will foster a high-performing culture, drive process improvements, and play a key role in overseeing both internal and external audits. Working closely with the Executive Team, they will ensure the organisation achieves its financial KPIs, contributing to Uniting AgeWell’s ongoing success and growth.

With demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to lead corporate services functions effectively, the incoming CFO will have a proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies that drive both service delivery improvements and financial sustainability. The role requires strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and collaborate with teams and stakeholders to achieve shared organisational goals.

In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate will possess exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. They will have a strong grasp of quality, safety, and risk management principles, and be adept at navigating the complexities of a fast-changing environment while maintaining a focus on financial sustainability and strategic growth.
