Reporting to the Executive Director, Strategy, Capital and Digital the Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be accountable for Peninsula Health’s overall strategic vision and leadership for digital health and technology. The CIO will lead a large team and provide technical expertise across all layers of ICT Operations including service desk, mobile device support, application and integration services, digital health applications, network and communication services, cybersecurity and ICT risk management. The CIO will provide the security, reliability, and efficiency of all digital plans, operations and major projects while championing the digital literacy and technology engagement of all employees. The CIO will lead the successful implementation of the Frankston Hospital Redevelopment ICT program and be a major contributor to the future integration of ICT functions across the new Bayside Health entity. Bayside Health is the working title of the new merged service that will come into being on 1 Jan 2026 bringing together Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service.
As an experienced operational leader, the appointee will have knowledge of the health sector or closely related complex environment and have worked with teams through significant change within the operational ICT area. Resilience and highly developed problem-solving skills will be key to the success of this role, as will the ability to balance the current needs of the organisation and future capability. This position requires an individual who can build strong relationships across a broad range of stakeholders, including the digital working groups of the five hospitals within the entity. CIO will be influential, collaborative and strategic in approach and embrace change to support better health outcomes for the community.
