The Role
This is a unique and recently renewed opportunity to lead a diverse corporate services division at Legal Aid NSW. The position will oversee the Finance, Information Technology and Human Resources functions and drive these services to be client focused, integrated and operating efficiently.
The Executive Director, Corporate Services also serves as the agency’s Chief Finance Officer and is responsible for liaising and reporting to NSW Treasury and the Department of Communities and Justice on budget related matters and providing strategic financial oversight, including budgeting, reporting and financial planning.
This role will be responsible for directing the division’s priorities and resources, ensuring alignment with the agency’s broader strategic goals. As a member of the Executive Leadership team, the successful candidate will contribute to organisational decision making, planning and continuous improvement. Reporting to the CEO, the role has seven direct reports and an overall team of approximately 130 staff.
You will bring a demonstrated track record in successfully delivering high impact corporate services in a public sector setting. In addition, significant experience working with teams in implementing operating excellence. CPA/CA qualifications are required.

Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid agency in Australia, comprising a Central Sydney office and 25 regional offices in metropolitan and regional centres across NSW and a number of specialist services and advice clinics. It was established under the Legal Aid Commission Act 1979 as an independent authority to assist economically and socially disadvantaged people to understand and protect their rights in the legal system. People with disabilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women and children, Indigenous people and people with mental illness are some of the groups who may experience difficulties when enforcing and defending their rights.
