The Position
The Head of Primary is a key executive leadership position at Matthew Flinders Anglican College, with overarching responsibility for the strategic and operational leadership of the Primary School (Prep to Year 6). This role also includes a vital liaison function with the Director of the Flinders Early Learning Centre (FELC) and the Coordinator of Outside School Hours Care (OSHC), ensuring alignment and continuity across the early years and primary education.
Reporting directly to the Principal, the Head of Primary serves as a key member of both the College Executive and the College Educational Leadership Team. In this capacity, the Head of Primary contributes strategically to the development and implementation of whole-of-College initiatives, fostering a cohesive and forward-focused organisational culture across the College.
As the educational and operational leader of the Primary School, the Head of Primary is entrusted with the responsibility of advancing the College’s Vision, Mission, and Values. The role demands a strong commitment to academic excellence, pedagogical innovation, student wellbeing, professional growth of staff, and meaningful engagement with the wider College community.
The ideal candidate will lead with purpose and vision, cultivating a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and high achievement. Through strategic leadership and exemplary practice, the role will support the formation of students as individuals of character—equipped to realise their full potential and contribute positively to an ever-changing global context.

Matthew Flinders Anglican College is a co-educational College that cares for more than 1400 students in P-12 and 140 Early Learning Centre children. The College was established in 1990 and is located on the Sunshine Coast in Buderim.
