The Position
St Catherine’s School Sydney is seeking an innovative and strategic leader for a newly created Executive position. The Head of Teaching and Learning K-12. will shape the design and delivery of exceptional teaching and learning across the school, driving academic excellence, innovation, and a commitment to the School’s vision for quality girls’ education.
The Head of Teaching and Learning leads the design and delivery of teaching and learning across the school, ensuring that St Catherine’s remains a community of high academic achievement, innovation, and professional excellence—for the benefit of our girls. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role contributes to the strategic direction of the school, from K-12, with a focus on improving learning outcomes for all students and strengthening teaching practice through courageous leadership, data-informed strategies, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous growth.
With a deep understanding of the holistic educational needs of students, and a proven record of developing and implementing high-quality academic programs to meet those needs, the Head of Teaching and Learning will be a contemporary and innovative educator. This leader uses research and data to drive decision-making and is committed to excellence. In their leadership, the Head of Teaching and Learning is approachable, visible, and engaging—nurturing a positive and inclusive culture, fostering strong relationships with staff, students, and families, and promoting wellbeing.
This role is central to fostering a culture of curiosity and lifelong learning, where girls are empowered to explore their strengths, staff are supported in their professional growth, and learning is underpinned by compassion and purpose. The Head of Teaching and Learning supports the Headmistress in shaping a learning environment that honours the dignity of each student and ensures that every girl is known, challenged, and supported.
