auDA is an Australian not-for-profit organisation responsible for administering the .au domain relied on by internet users in Australia and around the world. auDA has over 5,500 members and represents Australia’s interests internationally.

The .au domain is part of Australia’s critical infrastructure. Endorsed by the Australian Government, auDA’s role is to ensure the .au domain is a secure, accessible and trusted Australian public asset for all internet users.

The Opportunity

auDA’s independent Nomination Committee seeks applications from candidates for five positions: the next Independent Chair of auDA and four Non-Executive Director positions. The Nomination Committee will approve a number of candidates for the Board to consider.

Two of the approved candidates will be directly appointed by the Board and others will take part in an election for the third and fourth positions. There will be a joint Nomination Committee and Board process to consider the Independent Chair candidates. Appointments will be remunerated and take effect after the November 2025 AGM.

Expectations of Candidates

Candidates wishing to be considered will need strong professional skills and demonstrated experience in some or all of the areas identified to provide the depth and breadth of skills and capabilities required of the auDA Board collectively. These include strategy, governance, global multi-stakeholder policy and regulation, relevant technical and industry knowledge, innovation, stakeholder relations, finance and reporting. Essential personal qualities include the ability to work collegiately, act with integrity and contribute constructively.

Independent Chair candidates will have significant leadership and governance skills and experience including direct experience dealing effectively with government.
