The Process
Detailed research and mapping identified high-calibre candidates in similar positions at Australian universities, research institutes, and tertiary education institutions.
Our team reached out to individuals across these networks, engaging in dialogue to gather advice and recommendations. These candidates were encouraged to apply and were interviewed by Future Leadership consultants to evaluate their fit with the university’s requirements and culture. An online advertising campaign targeting higher education and Indigenous websites further supplemented the search. Feedback from the market indicated it was a competitive field, with other universities also recruiting for senior Indigenous roles.
Three top candidates were selected for interview, presenting their vision for the role before a panel that included the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), and a representative from the Elders Advisory Board.
