Future Leadership is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Brenda Holt to the position of Head, Little Hall at The University of Melbourne, effective October 2024. Brenda has an impressive history of senior leadership in residential colleges, innovation, and engagement, including a notable five-year tenure as Principal of St Hilda’s College. As Principal at St Hilda’s College (2018-2024), Brenda spearheaded a cultural transformation that significantly boosted applications, academic achievement, and student satisfaction. Her efforts also led to an increase in scholarships, providing more opportunities for under-represented students, her passion.
Throughout her distinguished career, Brenda has demonstrated exceptional leadership in leading change, coaching staff, recruitment, and cultural renewal. Brenda’s 22 years in residential education has been invaluable in two recent appointments at VTAC, where she managed all communications and engagement with Victorian schools and interstate students seeking Victorian tertiary studies and large-scale changes in governance and infrastructure at State Schools’ Relief. Her expertise and dedication has also been recognised through her roles as the former Chair of Heads of Colleges (2019-21) and as a member of the National University Colleges Australia Executive.
We are confident that Brenda’s extensive experience and visionary leadership will greatly benefit Little Hall and its community.
