The Position
Wesley College seeks to appoint a dynamic and strategic leader to the position of Head of the Wesley College Foundation. This pivotal role will drive philanthropic engagement and secure financial support from private, corporate, and community stakeholders to advance the College’s mission. Working closely with senior leadership and alumni, the Head will lead strategic fundraising initiatives, cultivate long-term partnerships, and oversee a dedicated team. The successful candidate will champion scholarships, capital projects, and key initiatives, ensuring alignment with Wesley’s values and strategic goals while fostering a culture of excellence in education and community impact.
The Head of the Wesley College Foundation will cultivate relationships with private, corporate, and community foundations, developing compelling grant proposals, and ensuring compliance and impact reporting. The successful candidate will manage a high-performing team, collaborate across departments, and align fundraising efforts with the College’s broader goals. With a strong understanding of philanthropic trends, the Head will drive engagement strategies, oversee donor stewardship, and support events that foster alumni and parent involvement.
The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in securing significant funding and managing complex stakeholder relationships within the philanthropic sector. Strong strategic thinking, project management, and persuasive communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage effectively across diverse internal and external groups. The appointee will demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence along with a deep alignment with the College’s values and educational mission.

Wesley College Melbourne, a Uniting Church school with a rich tradition spanning 157 years, is a diverse, dynamic, coeducational learning community with more than 3,400 students aged between 3 and 18 years. The school offers a rich and comprehensive program promoting not only excellent academic results, but also a concentrated focus on the Arts, Sport, Outdoor Education and Community.
