Claire Sime appointed as Chief Executive Officer Gastroenterological Society of Australia

Ms. Claire Sime has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and commenced on 25 November 2025. In this position, Claire will provide visionary leadership and strategic direction, advancing the work of GESA in support of the sector.

Claire joins GESA with over 15 years of senior leadership experience in strategic leadership, health system transformation and healthcare management. Claire is a strategic and influential senior Executive and Non-Executive Board Director who excels in enterprise-wide transformations to drive exceptional outcomes across complex health and medical organisations. She is respected for her strong people leadership, courage, and integrity. Throughout her career, Claire has successfully led the development and execution of enterprise and M&A strategies, large-scale transformations, digital initiatives, PMO operations, and data and insights.

Claire joins GESA following her time with genU as Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer. Prior to that, she held the positions of Group Director Strategy with Epworth HealthCare and Director at KPMG.
