A leading regional support provider launched the Emerging and Developing Leadership Program in early 2024 to cultivate a unified leadership culture and build foundational capabilities among new and aspiring leaders. The initiative was designed in partnership with Future Leadership and targeted approximately 40 participants across various service lines.

The Process

The Emerging and Developing Leadership Program aimed to:

  • Establish a common leadership language across the organisation
  • Equip participants with core leadership competencies including adaptive leadership, accountability, and strategic thinking
  • Support the transition from operational to strategic leadership roles
  • Foster psychological safety, emotional intelligence, and effective communication

The program was structured around immersive, interactive learning experiences:

  • Delivery Format: A blend of virtual and face-to-face sessions.
  • Learning Methods: Role-plays, peer discussions, coaching circles, and scenario-based exercises.
  • Key Topics: Time management, GROW coaching, difficult conversations, situational leadership, and wellbeing planning.

The Outcome

Future Leadership Advisory delivered the Emerging and Developing Leadership Program for the organisation with a focus on Leadership and Development across various levels and aspects.

Participants reported the following

  • 40% + increase in Understanding of Leadership ​

All skills measured pre-program, and post-program increased from an average of ‘Competent’ to a greater proportion of participants reporting themselves as ‘Highly Skilled’ with the largest shifts occurring across understanding the difference between leadership and management, emotional intelligence and giving feedback.
