Case Study Intro Image (1)

The Brief

Future Leadership has a long-standing relationship with a major national association, dating back to 2019 when the organisation first approached Future Leadership to conduct their Chief Executive Officer search, resulting in a successful placement.

After a five-year tenure, the CEO has vacated the position, and the board is now seeking to appoint a highly contemporary and innovative Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to continue building on the organization’s strategic, operational, and membership success. The CEO will represent and support more than 32,000 members while leading the organization as an active and respected voice in national policy. The incoming CEO will need to be commercially astute, with a focus on future sustainability and increasing the diversity of income streams.

The Process

The Future Leadership team conducted a detailed briefing with the Selection Sub-committee, providing an in-depth overview of the organization, its challenges and opportunities, and the specific qualities desired in the new appointee.

The search focused on individuals from similar national membership agencies across Australia and New Zealand, as well as equivalent roles within other Human Services and Health providers. The search process was further enhanced by an advertising campaign, which included a print ad and selective market research. This approach not only targeted passive candidates but also offered a platform for the organization to showcase its work and achievements.
