For more than ten years Future Leadership has enjoyed a continuing relationship with this high performing independent School.  Through the appointment of a number of senior leadership positions including Deputy Headmaster/Head of Senior School, Director of Human Resources and Head of Middle School), Future Leadership has developed a deep and thorough knowledge of the school and it’s imperatives.

Following the announced retirement of the incumbent after over twenty of service the school once again sought to partner with Future Leadership to appoint a Director of Business & Finance.  The school sought a contemporary leader who demonstrated broad management experience and strong financial skills.

The Process

Led by a senior consultant, the Future Leadership team conducted a detailed briefing with the Principal and Director of Human Resources, followed up by meetings with the Chair of the School Council and another Council member, in addition to the incumbent. 

The briefing highlighted the particular nuances of the position and the ideal candidate, including the need for the appointee to adapt prior experience to the school environment and be values aligned with the school and its broader purpose.  The consulting and research team reached out to known referral partners and potential candidates in the Future Leadership network, engaging with approximately 70 individuals to gain their recommendations or pursue potential interest.  The search process was supported by a print and online advertising campaign.  Future Leadership actively managed the panel interview process, providing all supporting documentation, and conducted full 360 degree reference checks on the preferred candidate.
