The Brief

A global men’s health charity contacted the Interim Executive team to identify an Interim Senior Finance Executive.

After launching a new strategy, the organisation needed to engage an experienced Interim Executive at the CFO level to review the existing finance structure and provide a transformation roadmap aligned with the new strategy.

The organisation required an experienced and commercially focused Interim Finance specialist with the ability to work strategically to review, plan, and lead a step change for the finance function and the broader organisation.

The Process

The Interim Executive team leveraged an extensive, pre-qualified, national network with over 25 years of knowledge in the For Purpose sector.

Intensive assessment interviews were conducted, and over 15 potential Interim Finance Executives were contacted. Within five days, a curated shortlist of five highly aligned Interim Finance Executives was produced.

The successful candidate, an experienced senior interim CFO, COO, and restructuring specialist, was identified for the role. Despite being based in Sydney, the candidate commuted to Melbourne for the duration of the interim assignment.

The Outcome

Given the Interim Executive’s experience from over seven interim engagements across Australia, the candidate quickly established the terms of reference for the engagement, mobilised key stakeholders including the current finance team and operations, and produced a transformation roadmap including a detailed implementation plan in three months for the incoming COO and CFO to execute.
