The Brief

Having developed and maintained a long standing and strong relationship with this major not-for-profit organisation over a number of years, Future Leadership™ was once again approached to support them with the appointment of a Quality Director.

The primary purpose of the position was to drive a business wide quality culture. With the organisation operating in a highly regulated environment, the Quality Director would be directly accountable for the operational effectiveness of the Quality team and the delivery of processes and decisions that are focused on patient and donor outcomes. The key in undertaking the search was to identify an individual that had the vision and gravitas to take the quality function at the organisation forward, with a strong business background essential.

The Process

The Future Leadership™ team, led by Liz Jones, conducted a thorough briefing with the organisation’s leadership to define role specifics and ensure alignment with the organisation’s goals. The search process included:

  • Comprehensive Market Search: Identifying candidates from diverse backgrounds across Australia, reaching beyond health and pharmaceutical. Candidates with strong quality experience from within manufacturing, including food production, were to be well regarded in addition to those originating from highly regulated industries.
  • Wide Outreach and Application Review: A shortlist of candidates who demonstrated experience within FMCG, pharmaceutical, life sciences and food production were identified, with our client interviewing four candidates at panel interview.
  • Targeted Shortlisting and Interview Process: Future Leadership supported the panel process with documentation including a potential list of interview questions aimed at expanding on not only the candidates’ skills and experience but also their ability to build strategic working relationships.

Future Leadership™ maintained close collaboration with the selection committee, ensuring a transparent and efficient selection process.

The Outcome

Future Leadership™ successfully appointed a candidate into the position of Quality Director who presented with over 20 years experience within quality, risk management, training and systems compliance gained within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.
