Mr Luckas was appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer with the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute and commenced on 7 July 2025. Mr Luckas is an accomplished CFO with deep expertise in public health finance, strategic capital management, and financial governance.
In his position as a Chief Financial Officer at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, Mr Luckas will play a pivotal role in supporting groundbreaking discoveries that save lives globally. Prior to his appointment at QIMR, Mr Luckas held the positions of the Chief Financial Officer at West Moreton Hospital and Health Service, Acting Chief Financial officer and Senior Director Statutory and Advisory Services (SAS) at Department of Health. He has been a trusted advisor to boards and government, with expert knowledge of Queensland’s financial legislation. Mr Luckas is also a champion of digital transformation and ethical leadership, driving innovation and high-performance cultures across complex healthcare environments.
