Brendon Matthews has been appointed as Faculty Executive Director for the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) at the University of Melbourne. Brendon brings extensive senior leadership experience across higher education and the private sector, with a strong track record in strategy, finance and organisational performance. Having held a number of leadership roles within the University of Melbourne’s FEIT Faculty, most recently as Head of Strategy, Planning and Resources, he has played a central role in shaping the Faculty’s strategic direction, business planning and governance, and is a key member of the Faculty’s executive leadership team.

A highly regarded commercial and strategic leader, Brendon has led major initiatives including the development of the Faculty’s 10-year strategy, improvements to business planning and performance reporting, and the identification of significant financial efficiencies. His experience spans complex organisational environments, where he has demonstrated the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, deliver transformational change and drive sustainable outcomes. Brendon’s appointment reflects his deep institutional knowledge, strategic capability and commitment to supporting the Faculty’s continued growth and impact.
