Jennifer Tierney has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Oxfam Australia, one of the nation’s most iconic charities following the resignation of highly successful CEO Lyn Morgain.  Jennifer will commence in the role later in 2025 and is a passionate and decisive leader with over 20 years’ experience in the international humanitarian sector, including more than five years in Executive Director and Chief Executive roles.

With strong commercial acumen, a passion for philanthropy, and an innovative approach to fundraising, Jennifer brings the vision and expertise needed to drive Oxfam’s mission forward. Her deep commitment to social justice, international development, and the not-for-profit sector makes her an exceptional choice to lead Oxfam Australia into a sustainable future of impact and innovation.

Reporting to the Board, Jennifer will deliver a new strategic plan and provide visionary leadership across all aspects of Oxfam’s charter, guiding a team of highly engaged staff and 100,000 Australian supporters. Most recently serving as Executive Director of MSF Australia, she has demonstrated inspiring, collaborative, and strategic leadership through complex global challenges. Her broad experience spans board governance, international team leadership, field program management, risk management, communications, and fundraising. Jennifer has built high-performing teams through crisis moments while championing mental and physical wellbeing initiatives.

It was clear during the recruitment process with Future Leadership that they were trying to make an aligned match between me, the candidate, and Oxfam.  They went beyond matching a resume to a job description, taking the time to ensure that we were values aligned, and ensuring a robust and open conversation between the two parties throughout the process. I am grateful to them for the end result.
