Matthew Cripps appointed as Chief Executive Officer at Bayside City Council

Future Leadership is delighted to announce the appointment of Matthew Cripps to the position of Chief Executive Officer at Bayside City Council.

Matthew had been Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) since March 2025 and was previously the Director of City Planning and Amenity at Bayside City Council. Prior to this, he was the Director Planning & Economic Development at Baw Baw Shire Council and has 25 years’ experience in local government in the areas of land use and development, sustainability and environment, economic development, business and change management.

Matthew’s appointment reflects his strong leadership, deep understanding of the sector, and commitment to community-focused outcomes. As CEO, he will lead Bayside City Council through its next phase of strategic growth, with a focus on innovation, service excellence, and sustainable development. His collaborative approach and proven ability to deliver complex projects will be instrumental in shaping a vibrant and resilient future for the Bayside community.
