Appointed: Karen Parr
Position: Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Karen Parr has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer of BioMelbourne Network (BMN) and commenced in June 2024. In this position, Karen will contribute, drive and deliver the 2024 – 2027 strategic plan, whilst building the profile of BMN and the reputation of the organisation for ‘connecting’ the sector. She will continue to build relationships across the healthtech landscape, fostering links and network engagement between members, collaborators and key decision makers, including state and federal governments and provide high level advice to the Board to support future planning activities.
Karen has extensive experience leading complex science-based policy and regulatory environments and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including federal and state-based government departments, to shape a positive environment for the sector. With almost 20 years of for-purpose and government experience gained across key roles with the NZ Government, the UK’s BioIndustry Organisation and AusBiotech, Karen brings strategic insight and policy knowledge that will help steer the sector to create growth opportunities with the delivery of innovative science and technology, research and development and delivering commercial success.
