Ms. Melissa Phillips has been appointed as Chief People Officer with Bendigo Health and commenced in May 2024. In this position Melissa will support innovative people and culture programs across the organisation and continue to lead and embed a culture that is respectful, passionate about great health outcomes and care for community, as well as having a strong focus on accountability. She will drive the seamless delivery of services including Workforce Planning & Resourcing, Medical Workforce & Support, Occupational Health & Safety and Learning Education and Development. In addition, she will provide specialist advice to the CEO, executive team and the broader stakeholder groups.

With over 20 years of experience across generalist and specialist human resource functions in the public health sector, Melissa has experience in both operational and senior leadership roles. She also has expertise in process improvement, service development, industrial relations and stakeholder engagement.

Melissa originally joined Bendigo Health in 2007 after five years in the public health sector and previously held HR positions at Australia Post Shared Services and RMIT University.
