Oxfam Australia appointed two Non-Executive-Directors in March this year. Elizabeth Grinston and Natalie Siegel-Brown were the two successful candidates appointed to the Board. Working with allies and in ways that decolonize and reimagine global networks and movements, Oxfam Australia is working to redefine its approach to solidarity across regions and countries ensuring justice is central to its way of working and underpins its mission.
Aligned to the goals of eliminating poverty through local system change Elizabeth and Natalie will make a strategic contribution to combatting inequalities through oversight, foresight, community engagement and knowledge to support the impact of a powerful, relevant, authoritative and respected movement.
Natalie Siegel-Brown is an expert in a wide range of social sectors and policy including aged care, elder abuse, carers, domestic and family violence, sexual violence, child protection, youth justice, mental health, and disability (both nationally and internationally). Natalie has extensive experience working with Australia’s First Nations people and she is an experienced statutory appointee for oversight and regulation of social services. She has held leadership roles in organisations of all three sectors: public, non-government and private.
“ Throughout the process with Future Leadership, I felt valued as a candidate and that the company understood the importance of regular communication from beginning to end. I think this is critically important at all levels but I felt they really got the challenges of making timeslots work when dealing with busy executives and a board. Kate always listened carefully and was thoroughly engaging to deal with – it made the process enjoyable. “
