The Fisher Leadership team has been delighted to continue our partnership with Lincoln University | Te Whare Wānaka o Aoraki in the appointment of Professor Christine Jasoni as Dean, Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences.  With primary general management responsibility and formal accountability for determining the Faculty’s strategy, Christine will ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency in line with the University’s strategic plan and its values.  Fostering a culture of collaboration, she will be the steward of excellence in teaching, research and service, and in developing and nurturing relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Currently leading the University of Otago’s largest department, as Head, Department of Anatomy, Christine is responsible for six research themes that operate as semi-autonomous research clusters, with significant external research contracts.  Awarded for her teaching, supervision and publication impact, her key areas of research include the developmental neuroscience of reproduction and body weight, cellular, molecular and computational biology, science communication and the developmental origins of health and disease.  Christine brings additional governance experience in the biotechnology sector, with earlier positions in bioinformatics, biocomputing and genome diagnostics in Dunedin and Seattle.
