Future Leadership is delighted to announce the appointment of Prof. Scott Tyo to the position of Chief of Platforms with the Defence Science and Technology Group (DFSTG), effective January 2025. Scott brings an impressive 30-year career as a military officer, researcher, academic, and leader, with extensive experience in Defence priority areas of education and research.
Scott has held various academic leadership roles, most notably as the Head of the School of Engineering and IT (SEIT) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). In his previous role, he successfully oversaw teaching and research administration for a highly ranked department at Monash University, focusing on departmental growth and fostering research, education, and industry partnerships.
The core aspects of the Chief Platforms Division at DSTG align closely with Scott’s previous experiences. The scope of this position offers the next clear step in his career and Scott is well-prepared and eager to embrace this transition.
