Stuart brings 25 years of experience supporting education systems, schools, educators, and learners through innovative enterprise technology solutions. As the current Acting CEO and former Chief Technology Officer at ESA, Stuart has demonstrated a passion for driving positive cultural, structural, and operational change, developing high-performing teams, and delivering complex national programs in challenging stakeholder environments.
Stuart’s leadership at ESA has included oversight of the Online National Assessment Platform (ONAP), ensuring the successful online transition and ongoing operation of NAPLAN, and the development of the Safer Technologies for Schools (ST4S) program. He has established and led the National Education Digital Advisory Group (NEDAG), fostering national collaboration and advocacy for ESA’s technical capabilities.
Known for his collaborative and visionary approach, Stuart has a proven track record in financial management, stakeholder engagement, and risk management. His leadership style is founded on trust, integrity, mentoring, and active collaboration, and he is committed to supporting ESA’s mission of equity and excellence in education through technology.
