Oxfam Australia appointed two Non-Executive-Directors in March this year. Elizabeth Grinston and Natalie Siegel-Brown were the two successful candidates appointed to the Board. Working with allies and in ways that decolonize and reimagine global networks and movements, Oxfam Australia is working to redefine its approach to solidarity across regions and countries ensuring justice is central to its way of working and underpins its mission.
Aligned to the goals of eliminating poverty through local system change Elizabeth and Natalie will make a strategic contribution to combatting inequalities through oversight, foresight, community engagement and knowledge to support the impact of a powerful, relevant, authoritative and respected movement.
Elizabeth Grinston is an experienced, commercially astute and values-driven non-executive Director, with particular expertise in legal, governance, risk, and compliance functions, who has held General Counsel, Board Secretary and Executive Team roles in Commonwealth and State statutory organisations. ” Working with Kate Wheeler of Future Leadership as the recruitment lead for the Oxfam non-executive Director role enhanced my understanding of the organisation and the role, and I felt very well supported in my preparation for conversations with the OXFAM Australia Chair and Board members. Kate always communicated clearly and provided guidance and encouragement throughout the recruitment process. ”
