About Western Leisure Services

Western Leisure Services (WLS) manages three premier community facilities in Wyndham City: AquaPulse, Eagle Stadium, and Werribee Outdoor Pool. We inspire healthier, happier lives through sport, recreation, and community connection.

WLS is a Local Government Business Enterprise, governed independently by a committed Board of Directors. We are entering an exciting phase of innovative change, focused on maximising community impact, improving financial sustainability, and evolving services to meet the needs of our diverse and multicultural community.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic CEO to lead Western Leisure Services into its next phase of growth. This role is not a traditional operational position, the operational leadership is already strong, but instead calls for a strategic, visionary and community-focused leader who can:

  • Drive organisational transformation and elevate the business beyond business-as-usual
  • Strengthen financial performance while increasing community engagement and participation
  • Build innovative partnerships and maximise the impact of community assets
  • Act as a trusted ambassador, engaging with Council, community groups, stakeholders, and industry partners
  • Lead with a focus on innovation, inclusion, and cultural awareness, reflecting our diverse community

This is a unique chance to make a lasting impact, reporting to a highly engaged Board, talented leadership team, and vibrant community.

About You

You are a senior leader with a proven track record of success in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. You bring:

  • Experience as a CEO or senior executive, ideally leading organisational change
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a focus on sustainable growth
  • A strategic and innovative mindset, willing to challenge traditional approaches
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, confident in politically and community-sensitive environments
  • Commitment to community outcomes, customer experience, and inclusion

While leisure or local government experience is valuable, it is not essential – what matters is the ability to quickly understand the operational context and lead strategically.

Key Details

  • Commitment: Full-time executive role, with on-site presence across WLS facilities
  • Location: Wyndham, Victoria
  • Remuneration: Competitive package commensurate with experience

Why Apply?

This is more than a CEO role. It’s a career-defining opportunity to lead a well-established organisation, shape the future of community recreation, and leave a lasting legacy in Wyndham.

If you are ready to lead with vision, influence, and impact, we want to hear from you.
