The Position

King’s College is seeking a visionary and dedicated Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead its thriving academic and residential community at The University of Queensland. This pivotal role is responsible for articulating the College’s vision, managing its resources, and fostering meaningful relationships with students, parents, alumni, university staff, and the broader community. The CEO will drive the strategic direction of the College, ensuring it remains a competitive and inclusive institution that supports the academic, cultural, and personal growth of its residents.

Reporting to the King’s College Council, the CEO will oversee all aspects of the College’s operations, including financial management, pastoral care, and the delivery of academic and co-curricular programs. With a strong focus on leadership, the CEO will work to enhance the College’s reputation as a world-class residential community while maintaining its commitment to the Purpose, Values, and Pillars outlined in its Strategic Plan.

The role requires a leader who can balance the complexities of academic and residential life with the operational demands of the College. This includes managing a team of dedicated professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering an inclusive environment that respects the ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia. The CEO will also actively engage with the wider community to cultivate philanthropic support and build lasting connections that benefit the College and its residents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of tertiary and residential education, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to inspire and lead a diverse community. A postgraduate qualification is highly desirable, along with a commitment to the College’s values of respect, courage, loyalty, and humility.

This is a unique opportunity to lead an institution with a proud history of academic and leadership excellence and to shape the future of a vibrant collegiate community.
