The Position

Echuca Regional Health (ERH) is seeking an exceptional executive leader to take carriage of the broad portfolio of Community Services, that includes complex program and service delivery. The portfolio includes Population Health, Aboriginal Health, Primary Mental Health. Community Nursing, Rehabilitation, Allied Health and other Specialist Services. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director Community Services (EDCS) will be responsible for the delivery of safe, high-quality, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive services that align with ERH’s strategic direction and values. The EDCS will ensure that care is responsive to community needs and accessible across a range of settings—including within the hospital environment, in the community, at home, and virtually.
The successful candidate will lead a large, diverse and engaged team, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement. The ability to build and sustain trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including community partners, government agencies, ACCHO’s, consumers and partner services across the Loddon Mallee Region, will be key to success. The incumbent will be innovative and visionary in approach, supporting new ways of working and models of care. As a strategic and operational leader, who is driven to deliver greater health impact, the incumbent will empower teams to “look outside of the box”, supporting current and future needs of this cross border, growing community. Experience within a health service or community health environments, and demonstrated leadership in system thinking, clinical re-design and co-design methodologies at a Director or Executive level will be essential. Ability to provide culturally sensitive and values-based leadership to continue to build high performance will be critical for success. Qualifications in nursing, allied health, public health or equivalent and post-graduate qualifications in leadership, business governance or public health will be essential.

Echuca Regional Health (ERH) provides services on Yorta Yorta Country for people who live, work and play in Northern Victoria and Southern New South Wales. ERH is located within the regional town of Echuca where the Murray (Dhungala), Campaspe (Yakoa) and Goulburn (Gaiyila) rivers meet. The community is described as vibrant, prosperous and growing and has a population of 52,000 people living on both sides of the state border.
Since 1882, ERH has been a provider of health and social services, as well as health education and training. Services are provided across the lifespan and include community services, population health, acute, sub-acute and residential aged care.
The health service employees approximately 1000 staff and is a sub-regional health service.
