The Position
Eastern Health seeks to appoint an Executive Director Finance and Procurement. Reporting to the Chief Executive, and an active member of the executive leadership team, the position will lead and manage the finance and procurement operations of the health service to deliver on strategic and business plans and key performance metrics.
The Executive Director will provide a strategic and collaborative approach to ongoing transformation and sustainable growth for the organisation. With the Directorate comprising a large team, the Executive Director will build a culture of high performance, learning and accountability through a commitment to the optimal performance and effectiveness of Eastern Health including a high standard of monitoring and reporting both internally and externally. Key challenges will include adapting to and working within a changing environment to optimise the experiences of staff, patients and their families, and the broader community.
The ideal candidate will engage with and support other executive team members with the setting and delivery of the strategic direction for Eastern Health. The appointee will bring diversity of thought and experience, a commercial orientation and an ability to understand and influence at the systems level. In identifying a new executive to guide the Finance and Procurement portfolio, Eastern Health seeks a collaborative and engaging individual who demonstrates a strong strategic mindset and a commitment to teamwork, research and clinical excellence. The appointee will demonstrate resilience, tenacity and the ability to develop the team. While technical finance and procurement excellence and strength is a given, it is expected the incoming Executive Director will bring an inherent ability to manage and influence the Board and the broader health system.
