The Position
cohealth is seeking an accomplished and influential Executive Lead – Strategy, Impact and Development to steward the translation of an ambitious 10-year strategy into measurable impact for communities, funders and the broader health system. Described as an enterprise “conductor”, the Executive Lead will partner with the CEO and executive peers and take carriage of and continue to build disciplined performance monitoring, evaluation and benefits realisation practices, enabling the organisation to evidence value and impact. The Executive Lead will work with the business to commercialise and support growth of services, stewarding this work to ensure continued momentum. This position reports to the CEO and sits on the Executive team.
Success in this role will be demonstrated by:
- Articulating the “why” of cohealth’s strategy, translating it into a compelling, human narrative that demonstrates impact on communities and the broader health system.
- Augmenting consistent performance, monitoring and evaluation practices.
- Stewarding service growth and commercialisation initiatives, ensuring alignment with values and mission.
- Providing strategic leadership over communications, marketing and advocacy, ensuring evidence-based engagement with varied stakeholders.
- Strengthening executive-level oversight of operating model redesign initiatives, particularly where sustainability and future models of care are being tested or piloted.
Equipped with senior level experience gained in private or NFP sectors, the Executive Lead will bring a strong commercial lens. Comfortable operating in ambiguity and with competing stakeholder expectations, the incumbent will have a proven ability in shaping and delivering organisational strategy and in the leadership of major initiatives. Possessing strong advocacy, diplomacy and influencing skills, they will offer the credibility to ensure the balance of workforce, community and government interests.

cohealth is a not-for-profit community health organisation delivering health and social support services across Melbourne’s CBD, northern and western suburbs, and the East Coast of Tasmania. The organisation exists to improve health and wellbeing and address health and social inequality, with a strong emphasis on reaching people experiencing barriers to health and wellbeing. Services are delivered through multidisciplinary, team-based models of care and span general practice (complex care), mental health, alcohol and other drugs, oral health, family violence, chronic disease management, refugee and asylum seeker health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, homelessness and outreach programs, and selected aged care and community support services.
