The Brief
Future Leadership™ was engaged by an independent statutory body that promotes improvement in policies and practices affecting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people to appoint a Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People.
The Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People will engage widely with the community and provide independent advice to Ministers, government departments and relevant stakeholders on relevant policies and services focusing on child protection, safety, and wellbeing.

The Process
Future Leadership™, represented by Kate Wheeler and David Baber undertook a comprehensive National search process targeting individuals and organisations including justice, health and children’s wellbeing sector, Aboriginal controlled health sector and senior appointees in Government settings.
A shortlist of highly experiences candidates was presented to the Selection Panel for consideration with three candidates progressing to panel interviews.
