The Position

Firbank Grammar seeks to appoint a collaborative and strategic leader to the position of Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).  The primary focus of the position will be to deliver and drive continual improvement and operational efficiency of Firbank’s commercial, financial and non-educational areas to enable academic performance, student wellbeing and community development.

The CCO is a critical senior leadership position reporting directly to the Principal and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The CCO will work with the Principal on the delivery of the Strategic Plan, lead excellence in financial and IT management and oversee the development and implementation of the marketing and communications strategies to attract students to Firbank.  Key challenges for the position will include managing major building works and associated fundraising programs, expanding the current overseas program and overseeing ICT investment decisions. The position will also fulfil the Company Secretary function, supporting both the School and Foundation Board. This position plays a vital role in the school and is a true partner to the Principal.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader who demonstrates an ability to foster respect and unity across staff creating an inclusive and high-performing team culture. With broad management experience and strong financial skills, the incoming CCO will demonstrate experience developing and executing complex management and planning initiatives. A proven track record of driving operational excellence will underpin a deep understanding of how to leverage IT solutions for operational efficiency and strategic growth. The appointee will also demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of financial strategy and management, ensuring rigorous financial oversight and alignment with organisational goals.

Presenting with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine willingness to understand and appreciate the culture of the school. This is a highly visible position in the school community and the appointee will demonstrate an ability to build trust, rapport and develop collaborative working relationships with staff and families alike.

 

The Organisation

Firbank Grammar School was established by Bishop Henry Lowther Clarke in 1909.  Today it caters for over 1200 students. Year 7-12 girls at Brighton Senior School campus, ELC – Year 6 girls at Brighton Turner House campus and ELC – Year 6 coeducational at Sandringham House Campus.  The community is enriched by boarders who join the Brighton Senior School campus from rural areas and overseas.
