A major regional utility in Victoria, embarked on a comprehensive leadership development initiative to build capability across all levels of leadership—frontline, middle, and senior.

The regional water service provider partnered with Future Leadership to design numerous workshops with a focus on aligning leadership behaviours to the organisation’s strategic goals, including sustainability, digital transformation, and cultural competence.

The Process

Over the last 1.5 years, Future Leadership has been delivering various workshops to the water service providers frontline leaders, middle managers and senior leaders.

The workshops included:

  • Critical Thinking & Decision Making: Emphasising bias awareness, high-pressure decision-making, and data-informed leadership
  • Self-Actualisation: Grounded in Carol Dweck’s mindset theory, this module encouraged leaders to adopt growth mindsets and reflective practices
  • Confident Communicator: Focused on communication strategies that empower teams and foster psychological safety
  • Emotional Intelligence: Developed emotional awareness and interpersonal effectiveness, with strong participant engagement

The workshops were delivered in person across 16 full day sessions. The workshops were high interactive, incorporating real world simulations, group activities and scenario-based learning.
