
Future Leadership is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Rebecca Sheehan as Vice Principal of The Women’s College within the University of Sydney.
Following an executive search process conducted by Future Leadership, Dr Rebecca Sheehan has been appointed to the role of Vice Principal at The Women’s College.
A respected academic leader, educator, and advocate for women’s advancement, Dr Sheehan brings over 15 years of experience in higher education, with expertise in History, Gender Studies, and student wellbeing. She currently serves as Course Director of Modern History and Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University, and has held leadership roles across curriculum design, student support, and policy development, including contributing to ground breaking work on consent education.
Dr Sheehan’s longstanding commitment to fostering inclusive academic communities and supporting young women through mentorship, policy reform, and cultural renewal initiatives strongly aligns with the College’s mission. Her appointment also honours a personal family connection to the College, with her grandmother having been a resident, continuing a legacy of engagement and leadership across generations.
