The Brief

A major regional transport provider, underwent a significant organisational restructure following high-profile investigations and leadership changes. The restructuring process, which included government involvement, reduced the executive team from 11 to 6 positions.

This change left current executives with the choice to apply for roles within the new structure or transition out of the organisation. Future Leadership™ Advisory partnered with the organisation’s Chief People Officer (CPO) to design a tailored transition program that would provide essential support to executives during this challenging time.

The Process

Working closely with the CPO, Future Leadership™ created two distinct support packages for the impacted executives:

  • Coaching for Application and Interview Preparation: For executives who wished to be part of the restructured team, we provided individual coaching sessions to help clarify their aspirations and prepare them for the recruitment process. This included CV refinement, application support, and interview preparation. This was particularly beneficial for long-tenured executives navigating a competitive internal and external application pool.
  • Outplacement Support for Transition: For executives who either opted out of applying or were unsuccessful in securing roles within the new structure, we offered extensive outplacement support. This aimed to help them transition positively and prepare for opportunities beyond the organisation.

Throughout the process, Future Leadership™ ensured that all executives received fair and objective support, fostering a positive transition experience regardless of the outcome.
