Climate Change Leader, for an ambitious climate change agenda.

ACT GOVT Website

A government client engaged Future Leadership to support the appointment of a senior leader to drive an ambitious climate change agenda. The role sits within a significant policy platform and reflects an organisation committed to national leadership in this space.

The brief was for a Climate Change Leader who would be a collaborative, action-oriented executive capable of working across multiple directorates and engaging with business and community stakeholders to deliver on strategic priorities and program commitments. The successful candidate will be a values-driven leader who builds cohesive relationships, leads high-performing teams, and provides forward-thinking advice.

The search partner attended a detailed briefing with a senior public service leader to identify the specific capabilities, experience, and values required. A targeted national search was undertaken to attract high-calibre candidates for this newly established role, which would operate across jurisdictions and engage with government and non-government stakeholders locally, nationally, and internationally to advance climate action and ambition.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior government leaders and key executives across the public service. Their background includes significant leadership roles across state government and advisory engagements with international development organisations and national government departments.
