The Process

The Consultant team for the assignment, led by Deborah Komesaroff, undertook a detailed briefing with the CEO in order to gain a clear understanding of the organisational direction and the key success factors the ideal candidate would bring. Future Leadership™ approached senior leaders in a range of disability, aged care and home care organisations in multiple states across Australia. This targeted approach was supplemented by select online advertising. It was important for the organisation that the new COO was driven and ambitious, commercial and innovative, warm, ethical and agile and that they had a genuine desire to work in the space of human rights, inclusion and empowerment – not necessarily things that can be determined in a CV or LinkedIn profile, so the search process involved robust screening and assessment to ensure the right fit.

Key steps included:

  • Targeted Search and Talent Pooling: Future Leadership™ conducted a comprehensive search process targeting potential candidates within the sector.
  • Comprehensive Shortlisting: The client was presented with a short list of highly qualified candidates with exceptional experience.
  • Panel Interviews and Strategic Presentation: The Future Leadership™ team worked closely with the client to complete panel interviews, plus full referencing and required probity checking to confirm an appointment.
