Delivering an Executive Search to Strengthen Operational Leadership and System Performance for a Regional Health District

The Brief

Future Leadership™ was engaged by a large regional public health organisation in New South Wales to appoint an Executive Director Operations, a role critical to sustaining operational performance, system integration and organisational reform.

The appointment followed a period of significant transition, including changes to operating structures, the commencement of a multi‑year financial turnaround program and the delivery of major capital infrastructure projects. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, the role operated as second‑in‑charge for the organisation, with accountability spanning hospital and community health operations, district‑wide clinical services and a broad range of corporate functions.

The organisation sought an executive with the capability to lead complex, geographically dispersed health services, strengthen governance and performance frameworks, oversee large‑scale capital and transformation programs, and engage effectively with clinicians, communities and government stakeholders.
