The Brief
Having built a strong partnership throughout the search processes and appointments of the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director of Clinical Trials, and Facilities Manager, a leading medical research institute engaged Future Leadership in November 2023 to undertake the search and appointment of a strategic, collaborative, and talented Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The CEO was tasked with leading commercial and operational outcomes to support world-class insights and discoveries to radically transform health outcomes for the community. The institute sought a highly credible executive leader who could demonstrate exceptional stakeholder relationships internally and externally, including with universities, federal and state governments, industry, precincts, and other research institutes. The ability to navigate a complex environment, understand the nuances of the research and health sectors, and balance relationships with stakeholders was critical for success in this role.

The Outcome
The successful candidate, with a strong global track record in general management, commercial, and supply chain roles in leading multinational organisations, was appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer and commenced in May 2023.
The new CEO is expected to drive the institute’s strategic, operational, and commercial excellence, continuing the attraction of research groups, external partnerships, funding opportunities, and the expansion of the institute.
