Conducting an Executive Search for a Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning, to lead the Primary and Secondary Curriculum Coordinators and the Heads of Departments
The Brief
Future Leadership™ was engaged by a leading independent Islamic school in Australia to appoint an educational leader to the position of Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning.
After partnering with Future Leadership in July 2021 regarding the placement of Principal, the School engaged the firm to lead the search for the Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning role. The Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning is responsible for leading the Primary and Secondary Curriculum Coordinators and the Heads of Departments to maintain and grow high standards through improving Pedagogical approaches across the school.
The search followed a previously established partnership with the school and was aimed at identifying a leader with a strong understanding and commitment to the Islamic ethos along with a demonstrated understanding of current and emerging approaches to teaching and learning and how they relate in an Islamic School.

Key steps in the process included:
- Targeted Search Strategy: Collaborated with trusted referral partners and engaged with known candidates across independent schools and related sectors throughout Australia.
- Digital Outreach: Conducted an online advertising campaign to expand the reach of the search process.
- Panel Interviews: Presented a strong shortlist of candidates and facilitated two rounds of panel interviews. The final candidates delivered a presentation to the selection panel and participated in a tour of the school.
