The Outcome

The search resulted in the appointment of three Non‑Executive Directors whose combined backgrounds significantly strengthen the Board’s capability across clinical practice, governance, policy, digital health, health economics, and primary care system reform.
One appointee brings extensive experience in legal, governance and regulatory matters within the health sector, including several decades advising on complex medico‑legal issues, digital health transformation and system‑wide information security. This individual’s background reflects deep knowledge of both public and private health services and strong involvement in national and state regulatory committees focused on quality, digital innovation and confidentiality in healthcare.
Another appointee brings long‑standing clinical experience supported by executive leadership positions across peak bodies, including playing a critical role in national health advocacy, system reform and community health responses during major public health events. With experience spanning clinical governance, stakeholder engagement, and large‑scale operational improvement initiatives, this appointee offers strong strategic insight into primary care workforce development, health system sustainability and culturally responsive community care.
The third appointee contributes extensive expertise across primary care, health services research, digital innovation, academic leadership and complex system evaluation, with a track record of leading nationally funded research programs, designing evidence‑based interventions, and shaping policy for vulnerable and priority populations such as adolescents, multicultural communities and marginalised groups. Their experience includes health service redesign, federal and state advisory roles, and capability building across primary care providers to support quality improvement and integrated models of care.
Collectively, the newly appointed Directors provide:
• deep clinical and medico‑legal expertise
• system‑level understanding of primary care transformation
• leadership experience across public health advocacy, education and policy
• specialist knowledge supporting equitable access, adolescent health, vulnerable communities and digital health innovation
• strong strategic governance capability informed by decades of senior practice
This combination of skills positions the Board to navigate increasing system complexity, strengthen external influence, and support the organisation to deliver improved health outcomes for diverse communities.
