The Brief

One of Australia’s largest consumer organisations approached Future Leadership to appoint their next Head of Business Development.

This role will design and execute sales strategies for non-membership revenue lines, leveraging the testing capabilities and strong brand to support the fight for fair, safe and just markets. The organisation were looking for someone who has a passion for and alignment with their purpose and is committed to delivering impactful results.

The Process

Future Leadership undertook a comprehensive briefing with the CEO to gain further insight into the ideal candidate for the Head of Business Development role. In addition, the Future Leadership team represented by Tania Robinson conducted a national search utilising our talent pool candidates and referral partner networks.

The successful candidate will have significant experience leading B2B fundraising or revenue growth, ideally within a social context or NFP, experience in consumer, media, or digital product development industries and be a creative thinker with the ability to tailor sales styles to difference audiences.

Following interviews with the Future Leadership team, the selection panel considered an initial list of eight candidates. with four candidates progressing to panel interviews.

The Outcome

The successful candidate who has worked in a variety of Business Development roles will begin in the role in December 2024.

Their previous role was as Senior Business Development Manager of a parking platform. The successful candidate is particularly strong at building relationships, quickly establishing trust and rapport with customers. They are a natural salesperson and have the skills that will  significantly contribute to their role and overall team success.
