The Brief

An organisation on violence prevention engaged Future Leadership to partner in a search for three senior Directors in 2021 and 2022 for an additional Manager.

A briefing was provided with the CEO and Future Leadership lead consultants, David Baber and Kate Wheeler, to understand the organisational design, changes and themes of capacity building, strengthening connections with members and preparing for growth.

The Director, Government Relations, Policy & Impact (2021) will be responsible for providing advice, support and input to governments, decision-makers and policy processes to influence public policy, systems and institutions to drive societal-level change.

The Director, Innovation (2021) will be responsible for the delivery of projects and campaigns relating to new and emerging primary prevention practices and interventions, to be implemented at a large scale.

The Director, Marketing & Communications (2021) will be responsible for advancing and ensuring consistent application of the communication strategy and the impactful delivery of key messages via all channels including traditional media, digital channels and corporate communications. The aim is to have all structural and role changes in place by early 2022.

The  Manager, Quality Risk & Compliance (2022) will be responsible for organisation follows all legislative requirements and risk and compliance policies.

The Process

The focus of the search relied upon Future Leadership’s extensive proprietary databases and research, however an online advertising campaign was launched targeting high calibre candidates with relevant experience gained in NFP organisations, government, health, community services, and education.

Longlist reports of potential candidates for each role were provided and discussed. The organisation selected four candidates for each Director role for panel interview. The Manager role involved sending high calibre candidates across for calibration with the CEO.

Reference checks were undertaken for all preferred candidates resulting in the following appointments:
